We're getting there! This Kryptonite D-lock is the toughest we sell and - in combination with a second lock - would do a good job at putting off thieves in higher crime urban areas.

It's got a Sold Secure rating of GOLD, which is the highest awarded by the Master Locksmiths Association. No lock is a 100% guarantee against theft, but with this lock you're giving yourself a good chance that they'll pick on someone else!

This model comes with a 4ft KryptoFlex cable which you can use to secure wheels and accessories - but be warned that this cable is not included in the Sold Secure Gold rating. To be sure, you should always secure your other wheel to a fixed object with a proper lock. But it's a handy addition for low crime areas or for keeping your helmet or pannier bags on the bike.

The only downside to a stronger lock is that it does weigh a little more than the cheaper ones - 1.66kg with the additional cable - but that's a price worth paying for extra peace of mind.
